Earlier today, a collision between a black sedan and a double-decker bus near Dagenham Heathway Station led to significant traffic disruption.

The incident occurred in the late morning hours as the sedan, traveling along Dagenham Heathway, collided with the front of a Stagecoach-operated bus with route number LF70 YUG. The collision caused severe damage to the sedan’s front, impacting traffic flow in the busy area.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, managing the situation and diverting oncoming city buses, cars, and other vehicles away from the accident site. Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of serious injuries among the bus passengers or the occupants of the sedan.

Witnesses described the collision as alarming, prompting residents and passersby to gather at the scene. While many expressed concern for those involved, they also noted the efficiency of the emergency response teams.

A spokesperson from the local transport authority advised commuters to avoid the area if possible and seek alternative routes as efforts to clear the roadway were underway.

“We are working closely with the police to investigate the cause of the accident and to ensure that the road is safe for public use as soon as possible. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the community during this time,” the spokesperson said.

Local businesses in the vicinity are also experiencing temporary disruptions, with some reporting delays in deliveries and decreased foot traffic due to the road closure near the station.
